Centage Corporation is looking for a strong, mid-level, Q/A contributor. This person’s primary responsibility is to characterize, measure and report on the Software quality levels of Centage’s software applications. This individual will be responsible for developing test scenarios and test plans, and executing those for our applications, and for reporting the quality status metrics to the management team. The selected individual will have strong self-motivated characteristics as well as being a team player in a small business environment.
Responsibilities:
• Create Test Specs and Test Cases based on Product Requirement Documents and Functional Specs
• Where appropriate, automate test cases
• Execute and report status on automated test suites
• Recommend appropriate test case management tools
• Report software defects in a detailed and efficient manner
• Create defect tracking reports and communicate Quality status information on multiple applications, on a weekly basis to management team
• Work with development, support, and product management to troubleshoot software defects
Minimum Experience Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years of SQA experience in creating and executing test cases
• 3 to 5 years of experience in logging defects, and preparing defect reports
• Experience with Microsoft SQL server databases (SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008)
• Understanding of source control and versioning systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Should be able to look at global picture and work on cross product assignments (e.g. integration)
• Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skills
• Expert troubleshooting and reasoning skills
• Proficiency with SQA concepts and methods
• Experience testing software on multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems is required
• Must have experience with networking, general desktop, and client/server software applications
• Ability to troubleshoot basic defects, networking, and operating system problems
• Team-player attitude and the ability to work in a multi-tasking fast paced environment
• Experience with automation tools is preferred. Industry certifications such as CISSP, MCSE, CNE, CCNA, etc are a plus
• B.S. CS/ME/EE and 3+ years technical SQA experience, or equivalent
• Good computer skills to include MS Office, MS Project, and defect tracking tools
